Dumb Crooks Bring Bottle to Carjacking

BRONX – Police are searching for three suspects who attempted to carjack a man using a bottle while he was washing his car.

Around 4:40 a.m. on June 9, a 55-year-old man was washing his vehicle at a 24-hour car wash located at 1251 Jerome Avenue. According to police, three individuals approached the man and threw a glass bottle at him, hitting him in the head.

The attackers then tried to steal the car but were unsuccessful. They fled the scene, heading southbound on Cromwell Avenue.

The NYPD has released surveillance footage of the suspects, who had their faces covered.

  1. The first suspect is described as having a thin build and was last seen wearing a blue hoodie pulled down over his face, blue jeans with knee tears, and black sneakers.
  2. The second suspect also has a thin build and was last seen wearing a black balaclava with the Nike logo, a black t-shirt with a chain, gray or blue jeans, and black and red Air Jordans.
  3. The third suspect has a thin build and was last seen wearing a black hoodie, a black face mask, black jogging pants, and gray sneakers.
